It was a sunny day in Porter Ranch, California and although it was only around 10:00 am you could feel the heat starting to creep in. The time of the day was just right, with no traffic and the area somewhat desolate; it was time to bomb hills.
Bombing hills while riding fixed and brakeless is scary but exciting at the same time. Feeling the motion of the pedals spinning out, my heart races due to a sense of uncertainty, then there is a sudden rush of adrenaline throughout my body making me only want to go faster. It sounds crazy but its the ultimate rush.
The journey to get to the top of the hill is not always fun but I try to make the most of it by listening to my favorite jams. The best part is the descent and bumping music full blast while going down, nothing can beat that feeling.
Any time I feel down or stressed out; I get on my bike, bomb some hills, and all of it goes away. Each pedal stroke is like a magic wand that relieves the pressures of young adult life and helps me get some perspective to appreciate the life I have.
